It was a beautiful and sentimental time this past Saturday, as we gathered for the Homegoing Service of Vera M. Harper(Apostle Carlos Collins' Mother) at Bethel Gospel Tabernacle in Plant City. We were blessed to hear a heartfelt eulogy from Apostle Carlos, who honored his mother's legacy and shared the instructions she left for her service. For those who were unable to attend or would like to revisit the core message, below is a recap of the service and key points to carry with you throughout the week.
Message Overview: "I Know the Man"
The service centered on the testimony of a life lived in faith and the invitation to know Jesus Christ personally. Apostle Carlos reminded us that just as Paul declared he had fought the good fight and finished his course, we are called to keep the faith. We were encouraged to examine our own hearts and ensure we truly know the Savior, the one who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for us, and rose again with power. The message emphasized that we do not grieve as those without hope, because we know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Key Takeaways & Points to Consider This Week
- Know the Man: The most important question you can answer is whether you know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.
- The Plan of Salvation: If you have drifted away or have not yet accepted Him, remember that He stands at the door of your heart knocking, waiting for you to invite Him in.
- Live with Hope: We have the assurance that our day is coming, and we can live with the hope of the resurrection, knowing that He rose with power on the third day.
- Confess Him Before Men: Do not be afraid to confess your faith; if you confess Him before men, He will acknowledge you.
